Rabbit stew:

This recipe can be combined with dumplings.
Note: Raw wild rabbit (cottontail) may harbor tapeworms.
* Sweet potato, carrot, celery, peas, leeks, turnip, onions
* Rabbit meat (wild)
* Olive oil for frying
* Herbs (parsley, rosemary, marjoram, and thyme)
* Vegetable stock (unsalted—that is, probably home-prepared)
Chop the vegetables (unpeeled), then chop the rabbit meat, without the bones (cooked bones are not recommended).
Fry the rabbit pieces in a little olive oil for about 10 minutes, then put into a casserole. Sprinkle with the herbs. Add the stock (or water) and place in a 250°F oven for about 2 hours until the meat is cooked through.
Add the chopped vegetables and return to the oven for a further 45 minutes.
When the dish has cooled, give it to your dog.

Quinoa bake with vegetables:

Meat can be added if desired, but should be cooked more than the other ingredients; partially cooked meat can be dangerous, even for dogs.
Note: While this recipe contains starch, the type of starch in quinoa is different from that in cereal grains.
* Quinoa
* Zucchini, broccoli, spinach, and garlic, sliced
* Squash, chopped but not peeled
* Olive oil for frying
* Fresh parsley, minced or finely chopped
Rinse a portion of quinoa and lightly boil it with double the quantity of water.
In the bottom of a casserole pan or dish, lightly saute the vegetables in the oil.
Add the parboiled quinoa and the parsley. Put on the lid and bake in a 325°F oven for about 30 minutes until the fluid has been absorbed.
When the dish has cooled, give it to your dog.

Braised chicken:

This is a real "protein fix." You can also give it to your dog with boiled eggs. Pheasant could be used instead of chicken, when available.
* Chicken pieces
* Coconut oil
* Peanut butter (unsalted) or nut butter (unsalted)
* Parsley, minced
* Garlic, chopped
* Turmeric powder
Fry the chicken pieces without any bone (cooked bones are not recommended) in a little coconut oil. When it is tender, add the nut butter, parsley, garlic, and turmeric.
Cover and cook to the required level.
When the dish has cooled, give it to your dog.

Meat, bean, and cheese bake:

This meal is another great protein fix.
* Chunks of beef, lamb, turkey, chicken, rabbit, or pheasant
* Fava beans
* Soft goat's cheese
* Herbes de Provence
* Eggs, beaten
Braise or fry the meat, and boil the fava beans, then place in an ovenproof dish and mix together.
Crumble the goat's cheese over the mix and sprinkle it with the herbs.
Beat as many eggs as you need to cover the portion you have prepared, then pour the beaten eggs over the mix.
Place in a 325°F oven for about 20-30 minutes or until the egg has set.
When the dish has cooled, cut off the required portion and offer it to your dog.
Keep the remainder in the refrigerator for another day.
